Emu Empire born from pain
This is my Emu Oil Story
Stephen Schmidt owned Hayman produce store and because of the years of carting bales of hay on his shoulders he was in severe pain and his joints were worn out from the long hours of truck driving, in fact no one realised the amount of pain he was suffering and after carting his hay and driving home he literaly fell out of his truck in agony and could barely get himself to bed
Then one day a man gave him some Emu Oil to rub on and he couldn't beleive the difference because suddenly he was pain free and no longer fell out of his truck in agony when he got hone from long distance driving and carting hay.
and 12 years ago he changed his business to Emu Farming and sold his precious Emu Oil in his produce store in Marburg Queensland. Initally he sold his Emu Oil for Queensland Itch on horses and Mange on dogs Emu Oil was the best thing since sliced bread because it actually works wonders, he also sold his Emu Oil for rubbing on for aches and pains because he already knew he had a special Emu oil
He was so excited when he became an Emu farmer, he loved his emus and found great pleasure in helping people who would came to his farm and purchased his fabulous Emu oil and of course Marburg was (and still is ) a horse town and so he had plenty of customers to spread the good news about his Emu Oil
THE DAY EMU OIL CAPSULES WAS BORN
One day a man visiting from New Zealand came to his store in the small town of Marburg (a one pub town) and told him that he read an article in a mazazine in New Zealand that America is looking at the possibility of studing the internal use of Emu oil in the hope to help Chosterol problems and other health conditions, Stephen listened intensly with interest, he then decided he would have his oil capsulated and was the first person to start selling his Emu Oil capsules at the Rockhampton show under the brand name of Try It Emu Farm Marburg and many people were interested in trying the Emu oil capsules so he was pleased with his efforts
Twenty eight days after the Rockhampton show the phone started ringing from people who had purchased the Emu Oil capsules and stated that they had fabulous results with their sugar readings and in fact had dropped back on the medication.
other people were phoning with good news that their aches and pains form arthritis had eased dramatically and he again was so excited that his Emu Oil capsules had the power to help these people. He also found suddenly the orders were comming in for his Emu oil capsules from word of mouth from people swearing by his Emu oil Capsules and passing around the good word of the fabulous benifits they actually enjoyed by taking his Emu oil capsules

He renamed his farm and Emu oil capsules Try It Emu Farm Marburg because at that time he was getting so much interest with people asking what can this Emu Oil do for them, he would say Try it for yourself or if you have a problem Try It and because this became such a catchy phrase he decided Try it was a good name for his farm and capsules. Unfortunately this was not the best name to choose because suddenly "the jump on the bandwagon" began and amonst the fierce competiton within the market place others started selling Emu oil capsules unfortunately not all competetors are ethitical and his precious name Try It became a tool for them to make money as they had no market themselves so why not pretend we are Try it banners were put up with the words written in the same format as he wrote his Try It the words TRY IT (in large writing with identical same colour blue and script) and in extremly small writing even a magnifing glass could not see it were the words for yourself then the words Emu Oil in the same same size writing as the Try It (example TRY IT for yourself EMU OIL) this looked like it was Stephens emu oil and customers would purchase that Emu oil there only later to find out it was the wrong Emu Oil they thought they had pruchased afterall there was no mention of their own brand name except in a corner of the sign with writing so small you couldn't read it
TRY IT EMU EMU OIL WAS SO GOOD OTHERS TRIED TO PRETEND THEY WERE THE SAME (SOME COMPETITORS STILL TRY TO CLAIM THEY ARE ASSOCIATED WITH US YET THEY DEFINATELY ARE NOT)

Stephen was anoyed because people should be finding their own customers instead of blaintaint louring his customers in such a deceitful manner, he was concerned about his good name and was unsure of the quality of that oil but afterall competition is competition but this sort was not the correct sort anyone would like, he decided that the only action he should take is to change the name of his product so his customers would not be confused by this sort of situation and a recognisable jar. He then named his Emu Oil products Emu Heaven Golden Emu Oil divined by Try It Emu Farm because it was his special Emu Oil and no one else can take that name from him, Doc the pet emu travelled with Steve for years helping to spread the good news of his precious Emu oil so Doc's picture was taken and imortalised in the sunset on the golden label now there is no confusion as to who's capsules his customers are swearing by The jar is recognised easily by the users as the best emu oil
Doc the Emu travelled the countryside and walked down the main streets of towns without a leash and was friendly to everyone, he was often seen at shows or in the oval playing with Stephen or the odd dog or swimming in the ocean with Steve at the V Wall in Nambucca Heads or at Harvey Bay and other beachside locations he helped Stephen spread the good word about his Emu Oil and at shows people looked for Doc and at some shows Doc would sit and listen to music or take in a show and was seen in the crowd with children all over him and peacefully enjoying the attention and music, Doc loved his music and Doc loved Stephen and also Sarah (Stephens wife) Stephen and Sarah then decided that Doc should have a chance to hatch his own eggs and raise his chicks so Doc met Barbie and this year Doc has his 5 chicks (it took a couple of years practice for him to get it perfect) in a special paddock at the front of the Emu Farm and visitors enjoy watching the chicks grow and seeing Doc the proud father that he is raising his babies
DOC'S CHICKS WILL ONE DAY HATCH OUT THEIR OWN CHICKS TO KEEP HIS GENETICS MOVING FORWARD INTO THE FUTURE

My name's Stephen Schmidt from Try It Emu Farm at Marburg, and I'm sort of very excited about the whole emu industry, and where it's all going. I only became an emu farmer about six years ago after rubbing oil on my joints, and got rid of all the pain in about five days, so I've had a very big belief in emu oil, and it's from that belief that now we're going to be able to see an industry come from going down and now coming up, and be a massive big industry, and I think from now on because of what emu oil does, especially in the line of xxx and things like that, and arthritis, that we're going to see Australia I think in about ten years time, our biggest export dollars will be from emu oil.
